As per Vietnam customs data, Vietnam’s top 10 import partners in 2019 were China (USD 75.5 billion), South Korea (USD 46.9 billion), Japan (USD 19.5 billion), Taipei, Chinese (USD 15.1 billion), United States (USD 14.3 billion), Thailand (USD 11.6 billion), Malaysia (USD 7.2 billion), Indonesia (USD 5.7 billion), India (USD 4.5 billion) and Australia (USD 4.4 billion).

Based on Vietnam import data, Vietnam’s top 10 import partners accounted for 81.1% to overall value of shipments in 2019. According to Vietnam trade statistics, region-wise, Vietnam imported about 80% of products from fellow Asian countries. Another 7.3% was imported from trade partners in Europe with 6.2% coming from North America. Smaller percentages originated from Latin America (2.3%), Oceania (1.8%) and Africa (1.3%).
