Based on Mexico import data, Mexico’s top 10 import commodities in 2019 were Electronics (20.28%), Machinery (16.54%), Vehicles (10.75%), Mineral Fuels & Oils (8.76%), Plastics (5.26%), Optical, Photographic, Medical Equipment (3.52%), Iron & Steel (2.3%), Articles of Iron & Steel (2.1%), Organic Chemicals (1.78%) and Aluminium (1.47%).
According to Mexico trade data, Mexico’s top 10 imports accounted for about 73% of the overall value of its product purchases from other nations in 2019. Among top 10 import categories of Mexico, vehicles posted the fastest growth of above 16% from 2018 to 2019.
