Kenya’s imports of refined petroleum in 2019 totaled USD 3,014 million, which recorded a 1% decline as compared to the previous year. Kenya imported refined petroleum worth USD 3,087 million in 2018. Since last 5 years, Kenya has been recording a rise in import value of refined petroleum. According to Kenya import data, United Arab Emirates stood as the largest import partner of Kenya’s refined petroleum, which shared more than 40% value to total imports. According to Kenya trade data of refined petroleum, Kenya imported refined petroleum the most from the United Arab Emirates, which shared 44.7% value to overall value of shipments recorded in 2019. Kenya imports of refined petroleum from United Arab Emirates totaled USD 1,346 million. Kenya’s top 10 import partners of refined petroleum together shared 97.1% to total imports.


Other Kenya’s top import partners of refined petroleum in 2019 were Saudi Arabia (USD 909 million), India (USD 367 million), China (USD 104 million), Oman (USD 65 million), Malaysia (USD 64 million), Singapore (USD 36 million), Egypt (USD 27 million), Netherlands (USD 21 million) and Indonesia (USD 18 million).
