Panama stood as 9^th largest mobile phone importer country among Latin American countries. The country has recorded mobile import value of USD 492 Million during the year 2016. If we check the recent statistics of Panama Mobile Import, the country has registered USD 32.52 Million import value from January to March 2017. In terms of quantity imported, it is 149698 pieces of mobile phones.

Panama is importing cell phones via Air route, Land route and sea route. The country has imported 72% of the mobile phones via Air route only during the first quarter of year 2017. USA is the largest mobile exporter country of Panama. Panama has recorded the mobile import value of USD 16.92 Million from USA which is nearly 52% of total’s value in Q1 of 2017. China is the second largest mobile exporter country of Panama with export value of USD 6.89 Million. Colon Free Zone and Panama did re-import of mobile phones in Panama with the import value of USD 6.39 Million and USD 0.92 Million respectively during this period.

Re-Import means the importation of goods into the country which had previously been exported from that country. It means the cell phones which had exported by Panama in CKD type and the imported in CBU type mobile phones. It is located in Panama dedicated to re-exporting/ re-importing a wide variety of merchandise to Latin America. It is a free port.

It is followed by USA and Hong Kong with 39847 pieces and 25515 pieces respectively. China, Vietnam, Panama and Ukraine are next in the list of mobile exporter country of Panama.
